Hi cutie! I’m Emily: your friendly, neighborhood destination wedding photographer and owner of Emily Reedstrom Photography. I have spent the last ten years perfecting the art of being a professional third wheel and hype girl. I’m based out of Atlanta and Boston, but my love of travel has brought me to photograph weddings all over the world. As a destination wedding photographer, I aim to capture your sense of adventure, the true joy you feel, without forgetting the delicate details that make your wedding day unique.

Amalfi Coast elopement photographs

If you’ve ever been around a couple that is warm, kind and welcoming and adventurous, then you *might* have an idea of what it would be like to be around Laura and Nic. They are so tender in the way they speak to each other and they are constantly doing romantic and thoughtful things for one another. Early in their dating years, Nic had planned a solo trip to his favorite spots in Italy, and on a whim, asked Laura if she’d like to join him. She said yes, and they packed their bags and left together. Laura tells me that is where they fell in love, and where Laura knew she wanted to be his wife.

For Laura and Nic’s Amalfi Coast elopement, these two chose to have an extremely private ceremony and exchange of vows on the roof overlooking the Amalfi Coast and Mediterranean Sea. An intimate dinner for the two newlyweds was served and the newly married couple watched the sun set as they ate their first meal as husband and wife.

Laura and Nic made toasts to each other with prosecco as the moon rose and had a beautiful, quiet first dance together on the roof of their Amalfi Coast apartment rental.

I met Laura before I met Nic - by a matter of minutes! I was a groomswoman at a friend's wedding, and Laura was the bridesmaid that I was paired up with. Instantly I liked her warm and kind personality. Fast forward to a few months later and Laura reached out to me because Nic had finally proposed to her! Laura being the planner that she is, had tried to PLAN her own engagement to Nic by planning a day hiking in Georgia. But Nic had a secret up his sleeve, he took Laura out to dinner the night before and ordered her a piece of cake and then said to her “but wait, there’s more” and the rest is history.

Laura and Nic have such a sense of adventure. Nic has a pilot's license and flys fixed wing planes for fun, while Laura was a traveling Nurse learning about different places throughout the United States and working full time. These two have such drive, and desire for life, so capturing their Amalfi Coast wedding photos was easily one of the best wedding days I’ve photographed.

Wedding on the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast in Italy is known for its beautiful beaches, stunning cliffs, and picturesque villages. It’s home to many breathtaking views, which makes it the perfect place for a destination wedding. Walking through the villages is like walking through history. The delicious scent of seafood and lemons drift through the air and the people offer a friendly “bongiorno” as you walk past their shops and homes. When you’re choosing your destination wedding date for the Amalfi Coast, be aware of the seasons! November thru March are the Amalfi Coasts off seasons, meaning the towns will be less crowded and the hotel and wedding venue prices may be lower. During Amalfi’s busy season the beaches will be very crowded and the weather is hot!

Here are a few favorite moments from Laura and Nic’s Amalfi Coast Elopement.

  1. Spending the FULL morning with just Laura. Making a connection to my brides is a core value of mine. I strive to make every bride's morning as flawless as possible. On Laura’s wedding day morning, we filled it with prosecco, lots of snacks and SO MANY BRIDAL PHOTOS! It was honestly so much fun.

  2. Nic’s reaction to seeing Laura for the first time when she was fully dressed and made up for their exchange of vows.

  3. Watching Laura and Nic exchange their vows - intimate - small - kind

  4. A traditional first dance is done with all your friends and family around with the music loud and the lights bright. Laura and Nic’s first dance was the opposite. They shared their first dance under the stars and the moon, with no actual music playing, just Laura singing to Nic.
