Mammie & Grandfather || Couple Portraits || Dublin, New Hampshire
Let's celebrate Grandparents Day!
I am super excited to be sharing these gorgeous portraits of two of my all time favorite people: Mammie and Grandfather.
During one of my previous trips up to New Hampshire, I asked them if I could perfect some engagement photography poses on them, and they agreed. Grandfather said, "who the hell wants pictures of old people?" And I thought for a second.. Well, ME! I do. I want pictures of you two! And as it turns out, so did everyone else in our family. So they dressed up, Mammie wore her beautiful string of pearls and her favorite shade of lipstick and Grandfather put on his best collared shirt and made sure his shorts didn't have holes in them, and we went on my favorite photography adventure of my career.
We photographed around Dublin Lake, where there is a big, open, sun-soaked field of wild flowers and my favorite rock wall, then up to my favorite summer house that over looks Mount Monadnock. Almost every time I travel back to New Hampshire, I find a reason to bring my camera to these two locations. The lighting is almost always flawless because there is the perfect amount of tree cover for the images to be warm and sunshiney, but not over-exposed. My idea was to keep them as relaxed and natural as I could, so the photographs would be modern and light-hearted, yet timelessly classic.
This is my Sistine Chapel of anniversary sessions.
They embraced every pose I asked them to do with enthusiasm, and their laughter filled the crisp, evening summer air of Dublin.
I am super thankful that these two amazing people were willing to hop in front of my camera for some photos, and FYI, everyone in my family is also super grateful as well. I never imagined that everyone in my family would have one of these photographs framed in their house, but I can see now that it was such a beautiful gift for me to give to not only my grandparents and myself, but to my aunt, uncle, mom and sister.
